Workshops
This year, everyone will attend the same CTI-focused workshops on the afternoon of Friday, July 13th. The workshops will be presented three times each giving every registered Instructor the opportunity to attend all three.
Primary Instruction
Presented by: NJ/PA Branch Corporate Instructor, Ms. Ruchi Vyas
The Kumon Center of Princeton Junction was the very first center in North America to implement the Center Transformation Initiative and Primary Instruction. IN this presentation, Prince Junction Company Center Instructor Ruchi Vyas will discuss the importance of conducting Primary Instruction to develop discipline, awareness of time, and learn how to use the worksheets.
She will also share lessons learned implementing PI in her Center as well as sharing effective PI techniques for developing these behaviors and skills in students. Lastly, she'll discuss how Primary Instruction positively impacts the students in the main classroom.
Early Learners: Math Instruction
Presented by: Ms. Patty Trevezas & Ms. Keisha Wade from the KNA Math Team
Using case studies and videos of early learners, this workshop will cover instructional information and techniques to be used with students studying in Math Levels 7A-4A. Keeping the aims of each level in mind, we will focus on guiding students through the different types of exercises of the counting and number sequence block. We will watch them as we begin developing their work skills, concentration, self- learning ability and a love for learning.
Center Management with CTI
Presented by: Gold-Elite NY Tri-State Corporate Instructors, Ms. Melissa Gebhard & Ms. Cristina Mattera
The 500-student Kumon Center of Teaneck was one of the first large existing centers to implement the Center Transformation Initiative. In this presentation, co-Company Center Instructors Melissa Gebhard and Cristina Mattera will discuss how they implemented CTI in their Center, how their center management (including student flow, grading and paper flow, and class prep) has changed as a result of CTI, and how they train their assistants in Primary Instruction.
